The Guild’s first show in 1980 was held on the lawn of the
Eastham Library for resident artists of the town to display
their work. Paintings were hung on wood and wire from old
chicken coops and everyone sold a painting on the day of the
show! The next year the Guild moved to the Eastham Historical
Society’s Schoolhouse Museum and continued to hold shows there
for twenty-four years. The Gallery grew and the chicken coop
remnants were replaced with sparkling white display tents.
We
hold our exhibitions on the lawn of the Historic Schoolhouse directly across from the National Seashore's Salt Pond Visitors'
Center at the corner of Route 6 and Nauset Road in Eastham. As the weather warms, look for our white tents and wonderful art
which will be a nice addition to your visit to the Visitor’s Center Museum and the 1869 school room in the Schoolhouse Museum. All three available for no charge!
Come Paint With Us
Every
Thursday from May through October, weather
permitting, several of our artists venture off to different
scenic spots on the Outer Cape to paint en plein air. We
invite any visiting artist to pack up your paints and join
us. If you are an artist who has always wondered where to go
to find the most picturesque spots on Cape Cod, stop in at
our show or call Bob Bylaska at 508-255-6133 to see where we
will be painting. As long-time, year-round residents, we
know of some truly great places. We leave at 9 am from the
School House Museum
in North Eastham . We are often painting at a beautiful spot
inside the National Seashore or off the trails of the
Audubon Sanctuary. We look forward to having you join us!
